This is my second day of playing with the following setup:

E6400 - Week 31 2006
Asus P5N-E SLI
Team Xtreem PC5300 2x1GB
Scythe Infinity CPU Cooler
MSI 7900GTO
Tagan 480W PSU

Best clock so far:

Its happily priming away so I'll let it go for a couple of hours before I get bored.

Temps are excellent, highest I've seen is 57 degrees under full Orthos load.

Quite a nice setup :) My e6600 does about the same and I've been tempted to put it up to 450x8 instead of 400x9 for a little extra speed, those temps also look really good considering mine always hovers around 65c when doing small FFT orthos with a tuniq tower.

You should try out speedfan 4.32 beta - it reads the core temps as well.

Its just pulled that value out of the air, its running about 1000rpm, just about audible in a quiet room.

Just messing m8 ;)

Damn fine clock for a 6400 and on those volts too.

I mate

congrt.,nice overclock :)
I bet with that setup you could hit the 475 /480fsb x 8 (mems 1:1)values
although maybe with a liitle more Vcore( 1.45/ 1.5V)

Team Group Pc 5300 @ 8-3-3-3 rules :)

Looks like this is about as far as this CPU will go, 3.7ghz will just about claw its way into windows but no amount of increased Vdimm, increased NB voltage or slackening of RAM timings is getting it close to stable. Feels like a mobo limitation to be honest.

Just thank me saying get a 6400 over a 6300 :D ;)

Yeah cheers mate :D

The 3.6ghz is rock solid now, no 3.7 though :(

Oh and I found the stepping, Intel were kind enough to write it on the box - L631B082

yeah been reading some reviews on the net and the memory options arent the best, DS3 is brilliant even easyrider says its better than his 680i-doesnt get better than that :)
