[ATi R600XTX/XT/XL Series Unveiled] VR-Zone

There is no way it would fit in my case. 12 inches for the top of the line one is just silly, the 9 inch one is still massive too.

The specs (from what little they actually said) look good though.

12.4" for the OEM version and 9.5" for the retail with power consumption quoted as 270W and 240W respectively.

Does that mean that the retail boards are a more optimised product?

A bit like when the first 7900GX2's appeared, followed by the 7950GX2 which was shorter if I remember correctly.

The 8800GTX is listed as 275mm length = 10.8" (rounded)

R600 XTX OEM 12.4" = 314.96mm

R600 XTX Retail 9.5" = 241.3mm (same for the R600XT apparently)

Quite a hefty increase of 39.96mm for the top end. But the XT might be a tasy alternative for those without the space.

I guess we'll have to see what the performance is like and see what the resulting refresh from nVidia does to the equation.

That's what I'm thinking. From that picture it just looks stupid atm. :rolleyes:

thats obviously not the retail one
the xtx if its good will be a bit more than the 8800gtx then the xt would be a bit lower than the gtx price and the xl would compete against the gts 320 and 640

this is what i think it will probally change though

Hardly 'unveiled'! That's such a prototype that cooler looks like I made it!

<Next day gibbo announces R600 :( >

:D

Corsair better start to make 1-2kW PSUs for those crossfired...
