Hell!! \m/
I'm on Nildram's 8Mbps service and so far I've liked it however yesterday morning I noticed a huge slow down in my torrents. Normally on private trackers I can do 200kB/s> however my connection is sitting around 20-30kB/s down even on torrents with a lot of seeders and very little leechers.

I've not been changing any settings and I've tried out a few other trackers.

My exchange IS on the congested list but it's been there for some time and the speeds seem bad even in the early hours.

Just wanted to know if anyone here has noticed a slow down too.

Everytime I move to an ISP after about 4-6 months they slam on horrible traffic shaping. But this has only been 3, looks like a record!

I've emailed them and I'll see what they come back with. They'll probberly blame it on my router not being bought from them or the fact that my exchange is congested.

Where did you go tbh?
Entanet (UKFSN, to be precise).

No throttling to speak of (they do slow down everyone's connection in 0.5Mb increments if it gets really, really busy. They had to do that while they were waiting for a new Central, which I think they have now)

Large caps too.

Hi Tony,

I can confirm that we do not perform throttling of any kind.

Are you experiencing slow speeds all round, or just on p2p?

I would suggest running some bt speedtests from
http://www.speedtester.bt.com and see if your speeds are consistently
slow or if your IP profile has been dropped due to a rogue low sync.

With regards to the payments your friend was expecting, that is not a
technical support issue so would need addressing by our customer care
department, you can contact them on 08701 600 197, or
[email protected].

They seem to say that they are not throttling. Maybe it's 'cuz all the little kiddies are off school and playing on CBBC till 4am.

Well, they were back when I left:

Although some of the email quotes from Nildram in there do seem to imply they were investing in more capacity so that the shaping could be turned off.

Pretty decent. Although I've accidentally hit the peak time cap twice - they don't send a warning email, and you get charged the next level up + £5 fine if you do it. That makes my bill go from £29.38 to £47.01!
