Drop the Mobo to a 650SLi, hardly any difference in features, plenty in cost.

Get cheaper RAM (cheapest PC6400) if you're not planning to overclock the ram, or if you are then go for something with Micron chips in (Crucial 10th Anniversary, Team , Cellshock).

You could drop your CPU to a e4300 and still overclock to 3GHz

Nice HD/Case/PSU/GPU/CPU HSF - obviously been reading the forums ;)

Do you need a DVD drive - I can recommend the Samsung 183 sata one, really fast.

Was tring to future proof it a little..a bit lost in the features so really went for best price/good make.Plus it looks to have semi good onboard sound.
is the 650 one the p5b???

Probaly need a little more advice...on that. Was going to overclock chip but clocking ram is deffo out my league.

Again was going for future proof and thinky a fast chip to start would be more stable when pushed.

Apologies for my brevity :)

The Mobo I was referring to was this one, the Asus P5N 650 SLi:-

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-221-AS

As it has all the important features of the 680i (SLi, quad core support, HD on board sound), ditches the 'useless' ones (and this is from a 680i owner) and keeps the cost low.

PC6400 RAM is really cheap at the moment. You could get something like this:-

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-064-GL

Run it at 400MHz (800 DDR) and get great performance for very little money. You can overclock your CPU independently to get 3GHz on it.

The e6600 is a good chip, but so is the e4300, and it's cheaper. Up to you really, both are easy to overclock and will perform well.

Get a nicer case and larger (or better managed) case, the P180 is too cramped, and with a 8800GTX  It's quite flimsey too.

I wouldn't say it is cramped. It is quite quiet. Plenty of room for an 8800 GTX :)

Lian Li cases or the Akasa Eclipse are also nice.

Wait for the new "this week only" offers to appear, something you're about to buy may be reduced :) The offers are replaced today so they should be changed sometime soon.

I would, once you start fitting components in. Removal of PSU fan is a must

pretty tight with a 7800GTX! I've seen picture of a fully built P180 and it's too tight, drive cables are right next to the motherboard. I guess once you've used a Stacker though ;)

The P180 needs to be improved, couple of inches deeper, higher quality door

I agree with the door part :) Plenty of room for my 8800 GTS, and I like the layout.

Maybe it's because my last PC was a shuttle that I don't think it's cramped LOL :D

If they weren't so expensive, LL or Silverstone. You're paying for the finish though. I'm happy with my Stacker 810, and I don't see the point of spending £200+ on case however posh it looks. Lots of room, choice of 5.25" drives or controllers, or HD modules. Rather have function over form.
