When I first tried installing Vista it would freeze in the installation menu and I couldn't move the mouse pointer. So I thought Vista disk must be bad.
Installed XP no problems. Now whenever I put in a disk (Gigabyte driver disk or Vista disk) from XP it freezes and I can't move the mouse pointer.
Tried a different disk drive, same problem.
Tried a different IDE cable, same problem.
Tried using a IDE to SATA converter on the drive to bypass the IDE port, but for some reason doesn't work.
Tried doing this [www.gigabyte.com.tw]
I'm now thinking this is a motherboard issue (Gigabyte DS3 rev. 3.3)
Pretty annoyed at spending ages doing this only to rip the mobo out and go to the hassle of sending it back. Any help appreciated
