Tuniq tower still best?

E6300 3.1GHz . Tuniq Tower . DS3 . x1950Pro 256MB
Hiper Type-R (Have mercy) . MX518 500Hz . Qpad CT

I'm not a fan boy by all means, I just like to recommend quality goods to people when I can, things that I have tried and tested whereas others tend to go for the maintstream products... you know the 'trendy' items.

The Noctua and Thermalright Ultra 120 perform better than the Tuniq...but the Tuniq Tower is still nothin to be sniffed at.

not impresssed with my tuniq. its loud at full chat and the heatsink is very restrictive. i cant see how this can perform better than my old ninja but since i dont have that anymore i cant compare them

I have no direct experience with it as I prefer water, but that's one of the first negative opinions I've come across regarding the Tuniq.

The fan is VERY loud. But thats running at Full. so its not surprising. Ive found that the difference between the tuniqs fan on lowest and highest is 3 Degrees worth of cooling. Needless to say that the fan stays on its minimum.

Noctua NH-U12F, Thermalright Ultra 120 and Tuniq Tower are all on the same playing field. To be honest you'll probably find reviews putting each of them at the #1 spot, as the performance is very good on all of them. You shouldn't go wrong with any of them, so I think just take performance out of the equation and see what best fits your budget / case / noise levels / appearance :)

Still in love with my Tuniq Tower with Yate Loon, Soo quiet yet idle temps in the mid 20's (22 deg ambient)

now that the weather has kicked up a notch, im looking for a new cooler too, but the question is, would a tuniq tower, scythe ninja, or thermalright ultra 120 fit on my asrock dual-sata2 board?

hey i am just checking something if your cpu is pritty cool (29c) would the fan not need to spin up ?

no it won;t spin up, but it depends on how its been set up. i have akasa amber fans in my case and they run at full speed all the time but they are quiet. yours may be a noisy fan at full speed so you can throttle its speed to how you want.

it depends on how the bios settings are.

well i have the noctua (amazing cpu cooler !!) and the fan that fits on to it never spins up.. is that right or not ?

Course it should be spinning lol. Have you tried having it directly into the PSU? Have you also tried the stock cooler via the onboard CPU fan socket?
