Hi, just picked up two 4200+ 939's for two builds I’m doing, wondered if anyone knows a good link or perhaps has some experience with the below CPU batch(s).

-LCBKE 0643TPMW -Y974284k60784
-LCB9E 0643TPMW - Z760464J60098

Only ask as one's going in a gaming PC which I’m over clocking a fair bit and the others just an all-rounder that I dought ill be over clocking - so would like to get the better suited chip in each PC if you see what I mean. Far as I’m aware the CD or BV on very top line of chip ID tells you if it’s a Manchester or failed Toledo, these are both showing as CD which is a bonus I would think?

Unfortunately I'm still waiting for a heatsink to turn up so I've got to wait before I can see what it'll do.
 
Well ive done a cpu-z using an old 939 mobo and they both show up as Toledo's, cant do much else with them till the actual mobo's they paired with turn up. :)
 
Test them both to see how high they go. ;)

Some LCB9E are doing 2.8GHz on stock volts and mine does 3GHz.
 
2.75 both so far on basic quick play (250x11), so not bad and will tinker with them futher once i get the builds fully up and running. Found some info to suggest the LCBKE will do 3ghz no problem, maybe two good ones then, result! :cool: Good job i suggested some Scythe Infinity cooler's to go with them at the time of purchase incase they clock well... :)

Got mine going today, doing 11 x 255 (2800Mhz) @ 1.38v hasn't batted an eyelid, I'm sure there's more in it, will wait a couple of days though for the AS5 to melt in and settle down.

Yep stock vcore, both now on 2.8, left over night stress testing, no problems so far. Will try for 3.0 if this dont involve large increase in vcore, which i dought going by results so far. :)
 
Mines prime stable @ 2900Mhz with 1.375v.

It ran @ 3Ghz but I backed off after I got a few glitches which I think are more down to my ultra tight memory timings than the CPU. I'm going to let it bed in for a week or so before I go any further.

It's an Asus A8N-SLI SE but any halfway decent board should do 264 - 273 on the FSB and allow you to up the volts slightly. I've got my memory set to 333Mhz in BIOS (2-2-2-5 1T) true speed is 209Mhz with the overclock.

It's now back on stock volts (1.34v) @ 2900Mhz and has done 10 hours of prime. I'm chuffed enough with this chip at these settings as my Opti 148 would only do 2850Mhz.

One wont do more than 2.85ghz without getting silly with the extra volts, other will do 2.9ghz with reasonable volt increase, so since they are not in PC's i own; settling for 2.8ghz with both on stock volts. :)

LCBKE - 2.85ghz max with 1.375v (stock 1.350)
LCB9E - 2.90ghz max with 1.400v (stock 1.350)

My LCB9E 0646 UPMW arrived this morning. Bad news is that it has a 11c difference between cores at idle and load. My other 4200, an LDBFE, has a 3c difference at idle and 11-14c difference at load :rolleyes: Someone doesn't want me to get a decent X2 :(

Beginning to wonder if my heatsink mounting pressure is at fault in some way, so an Ultra 120 is on its way. I'll see how well the cpu clocks when this arrives.
 
Would'nt worry too much coz i was getting 6-10c diff under load (not as bad when idle) between cores with them both - so seems most are like it i would guess. ;)
 
It's still cool enough with 1.4vcore, just annoying when 1 core is at 36c@load, and the other is at 50c. Still on average 5-6c cooler running than the LDBFE Manchester I have. That had a TDP of 110w, whereas the LDB9E is 72w.

I was seeing variable core temp differentials every time I remounted the heatsinks I was testing UNTIL I decided to do what I read on here a while back. I put a little thermal compound on the CPU and used a piece of a clear plastic bag to smear it all over the CPU as thinly as possible and also did the same for the heatsink. End result is very low core temps differential in fact the last time I fitted my TT BT both cores had the same temps.
 
Sean, what was the highest you were able to get and at what volts? Was there any chance of for example having it at higher volts to get 3GHz booting into Windows etc?
