will i need vista 64?

hi all i recently purchaced this processor

Intel Celeron D 356 3.33GHz (LGA775) - Retail

and it says on the box

intel EM64T requires a computer system with a processor chipset, bios,os, divice drivers and applications enabled for the EM64T processor

will not operate (32bit opperation included) without an EM64T enabled bios


ive got an abit SG80DC mobo ive had a search around and the board is EM64T compatable

dose this mean i need a 64bit os?

the instructions are quite confusing giving with one hand and taking away with the other.

one more question if i did get vista64 would it work any better,faster,stronger than vista32 witht this processor?
 
It would utilize the proccessors 64-bit extentions, but otherwise it would show verry little difference performance wise.
