I'm sure I never had this problem with my old 7800GTX, so I'm sure I shouldn't have it with this, but I want to see if anyone else experiences this problem?

I could load a game up in whatever settings, and it would run fantastic pretty much everywhere, until I see either transparent smoke/lighting or whatever on screen and I get quite a serious lag? Once past that, or its not on screen the game runs superb! Do these cards have issues with such thing? Or is it just my machine cant handle the game at those settings when lighting/smoke is around?

I mean I would'nt usually ask this question, cos I would think it was th above, but the fact that I am 90% sure on my old 7800GTX I never got a performance hit just by looking at this sorta stuff? Obviously the game didn't run as good with that card, but it never got worse when I saw that type of lighting/smoke?

Is it me? Or do these cards have a problem with this sorta thing? The lag can be quite bad sometimes?

Can't say I have that issue at all.

Your rig is pretty beefy as well, should not slow down at all.

What drivers are you using? You're not running some crazy levels of AA and AF are you?

What games are causing issues for you?

I've mainly noticed it in Hitman Blood money mainly, when I look at lighting its lags quite a bit. I only have AA 2x and AF 4x so deffo not too high?

I got the latest drivers from Nvidia? It does it in Doom 3 aswell, when I see trans smoke and stuff, it gets a little lag... quite annoying.

Hmm. Can you run the time demo for doom 3. What fps do you get?

To do this, add

set com_allowConsole "1"

into the cfg file. It's located under Doom 3 > base folder. Then load up the game and press CTRL+SHIFT+` (` = the key under ESC). That'll bring down the console and then type,

timedemo demo1

Oh, and the latest drivers I take are the 158.22 drivers yeah?

Ok I will give that a go in a bit, and yep those are the drivers i have.

I just reinstalled those, cos I did have the 158.22, but I just looked at nivida.com and it says the latest drivers are 158.22, but it also says they where last updated May 17th? When I certainly didnt download them originally yesterday?

maybe they were just WHQL'd yesterday so they reposted them.

Think you might be right there, I wasn't ask to "Continue Anyway" like I was before, so that would make sense!
