Dell Ultra-Thin monitor

I think although many prototypes fall by the wayside e.g. cars being too expensive to produce; very thin TFT screens in whatever guise are an inevitable stage in the evolution of PC screens.

Indeed. I wish more laptop screens would make their way into the desktop market. I'd love to have a 17" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) ultra-thin monitor like that found in high-end laptops on my desk on an elegant minimalistic stand. I'd even tolerate an external PSU.

I love the look of it, I just hope the displayport thing becomes a standard or the like

It's nice although a little odd looking, but the reflections alone would put me off, and I would rather it didn't have speakers, in which case it wouldn't need the massive sheet of glass either. If they can take something like the 2407 design, make it 0.5 inches thick and with a bezel as thin as shown there, and not put a glass front and speakers on it, then they're on to a winner though. Not mad on the stand TBH.
