Steam problems since update just now?

Anyone else having any problems since the new update (30/31 May 07)

When I open Steam my connection freezes (all the bandwidth is being taken up) and the games that are advertised on the "Store" tab do not show up.

Also, when I right click on CS:S and go "Launch game" the game does not launch.

My ping also goes from 25-30 to 400-1000. To get my connection freed up, I have to close Steam.

Add steam/hl2.exe to your firewall exceptions

If they're already there, remove and re-add them.

I have done all that.
This has just happened since the update which I did about 20 mins ago

Tried deleting clientregistry.blob and restarting steam?

hey steve seen ya post on steam forums also

yup lots of ppl are having the bad ping thing since updating

mines gone to 100 to 2000 and totally unplayable
ill try again in the morning

I updated, then I got random errors everytime I tried starting Steam..

now it's fine. weird.

... just logged on usual game server straight after update and so far ... no probs here....

... that said this will be the first update thats ever happened !

Mine starts up, does nothing, choose not to respond, i click close and it opens it self back up. Looking at the clocks on the sidebar on vista, it uses 100% of my CPU also. I just installed it, cba with the damn thing.

Im on Vista 64 btw.

same problem. solution, removed steam. all good now.

Was having problems at first but now its fine, ping spikes was the problem.
