** At uni with nowt to do at the moment so Im going to start this thread off, I will add ss and do some more tests when I get in**
System spec
[email protected] GHz
P5B deluxe
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 @ 800MHz 5-5-5-15 2.1 V
8800 GTS @ Stock
Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2
win XP home sp2 + updates
drivers 158.22 (its happens with a few I believe)
Temps under load
CPU 55 C
GPU 68 C
Stability testing
orthus 10 + (no errors) up to 3.2 GHz
memtest 3 + (no errors) tested to 900+ MHz
ATI tools no errors up to 650/900
Problem
Medieval total war 2 - graphical errors (distroted models, will ss when it happens again)
- visual errors on menu screen, if loaded from this point fps are 20 ish
CSS - seems like throttling of cpu (not saying it is), sharp drops in frame rate on certain areas of the map 100-200fps down to 20-50 fps. accompanied by crackeling sound
xvid/divx/dvd - randon pausing of the film for 3-10 s
3Dmark 06 - sometimes low score with graphical errors in second graphics test.
Oblivion - the odd texture problem (take with a pinch of salt as it is well modded)
Tomb raider legend - odd texture problem
*********************
Up until now I aint realy put much time into sorting it, tred lowing temps etc but im canny sick now so I guess it time to sort it.
I can borrow a PCI-E card so hopefully that will prove it one way or another. Will return my cpu to stock tonight and try a DVD and total war altho graphics errors dont happen all the time so it will be hard to no quickly if its that.
My main issue is proving its not my motherboard as I swapped out my x1800xt last year as I was getting errors and it turned out to be the PCI-E slot. I didnt relise as I added a PCI card which sorted the problem, so I sent it back. I suppose the only thing I can do here is add another card.
Thanks for any help..
