Alan Johnson in a suicide belt

Surely it's not a suicide belt if he's not the one pressing the button.

Im calling it a bluff. But based on the backward and no-value for life mentality in that region, perhaps am wrong.
I think it is coming to the end now, either he would be secured alive or found dead, my thoughts are with his family.

More than 170,000 people have now signed an online petition calling for his release.

Kidnapper A: Execute the journalist.

*hurried footsteps*

Kidnapper B: Wait! Wait!

Kidnapper A: Huh? What?

Kidnapper B: *out of breath*

Kidnapper A: What is it?

Kidnapper B: The internet cafe... the one a few miles away. I've just been checking my myspace and came across an online petition, calling for journalist's release.

Kidnapper A: !

Kidnapper B: 170,000 signatures...

Kidnapper A: Release him!

The tone used in your posts never ceases to amaze me. Why is he a 'swine'?

I didn't say he was a swine. Why did you assume I was talking about Johnson?

If you re-read what I posted you'll notice that the grammar I used suggests that I wouldn't have been talking about Johnson

From an earlier thread . . .

[On April 17th, Jon Williams of the BBC invited] anyone who runs a blog, website or web page to use a button in support of Alan. [Hundreds of] sites have so far pledged their support - and that's just those [that the BBC] know about. If you want to do the same, you can find out how here.

At the same time, more than 170,000 people have signed [the BBC] petition online to call on everyone with influence to increase their efforts to ensure that Alan is freed quickly and unharmed. To add your name too, go to the BBC Linkhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2007/04/supporting_alan.html
If you have any sort of editorial control over a web-site, or can influence someone who has, do please add a "button" to show your support for Alan Johnston.

Many thanks.

I think he's started a new trend there.

All BBC broadcasters will be wearing them by the end of the year.

You could even do phone in programmes where you could explode the winner (or is that looser ?)

Why is he speaking and acting as if he is being filmed by a BBC camera?

Probably because he doesn't know how else to speak to a camera, and most of the BBC viewing public will end up watching it.

Imagine his holiday videos. :p
