he E3 Media & Business Summit is right around the corner. IGN has posted their pre-E3 Crysis hands on gameplay impressions of the Island level, which is the first level in Crysis. They have also put another gameplay video online entitled "Island Walkthrough" and 5 new screen shots.

"One of the things we're particularly pleased with is how quickly and easily these two important gameplay systems are available. The most important interface is likely the advanced nano-suit system that allows the main character to activate nifty powers like extra armor, strength, speed, and stealth. While the same actual controls are used (default is holding the middle mouse button to bring up a radial menu which can then be used to quickly select a power or pressing the hotkeys) everything just works a bit smoother. We found ourselves switching between all of the different powers very frequently in the middle of battles to adapt to different situations..."

Thanks to MonkeyNutZ for this!

Well the are sponsored by Intel and nvidia so i would think whatever the best hardware they have
Yeah I guess, would be nice to know for sure though.

What was really crazy is that the game was running in 1024x768 for our playtest so that it would run completely smoothly at this point. They apparently have a lot of optimization to do. But the good thing is that the game still looked surprisingly good at only 1024.

really dont like the hexagon look on the UI.... hope thats not in the official release. but aye, apart from that, tis the reason my rig exists :D

Will run as smooth as butter you should have no worries :p , depending on how the 2900 performs with Crysis ill not be doing any upgrades, if however my card cant at least run it high with some level of AA @ 1680x1050, I'll grab a GTX.

Chevat has said numerous times that the hardware they use to demo Crysis is a C2D, 2Gb, 8800 setup. 99% guarantee that they are at stock speeds.

In the above video they did say they had to drop down to 1024x768 to guarantee smooth gameplay (ie no pauses or stuttering).

AI seems a bit cack in that vid tbh.

I really hope they do something different this time and actually make the AI good - I'd even sacrifice some of the graphics and other goodies if it meant you'd have a really immersed experience with unpredictable AI behaviour.

I've noticed that in every vid, A.I. just seems to stand still and shoot, i kept passing it off as early code but we're getting closer and closer to a possible release date and it doesn't seem to be getting better.

Im monunmentously worried that this is going to come out, look jaw dropping but have no game under the gloss at all :(
