Ok just setup my rig, after about 7 hours of work and lots of help from mates, i'm running into trouble with installing vista. I've partitioned both the new OEM sata HDD's which were previously "unallocated space" but when I try to proceed and install vista I get the error message "Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation" Can anyone help?

So it partitioned it for you automatically? If it did, just try running it again, or getting a copy of FDISK or some such program and wiping the hard drive and try again.

Both HDD's were blank. I partioned the drive myself through a certain part of the vista installation process where you select what drive you want to install it on, however I still had this problem BEFORE I partitioned the HDD's.

Microsoft say...

• Windows Vista is incompatible with a mass storage controller or a mass storage driver.
• A mass storage controller or a mass storage driver is outdated.
• The hard disk on which you want to install Windows Vista is a dynamic disk.
• A data cable in the computer is loose, or another hardware issue has occurred.
• The hard disk or the Windows file system is damaged.
• You tried to select a FAT32 partition or another type of partition that is incompatible with Windows Vista.
