(As soon as Drawoh turns up he can run the show again, but its best to get this started so everyone has plenty of time to join in)

For those who aren't aware, this is the OCUK premiership predictions game. Every weekend of premiership fixtures, a new thread will be posted in which you simply post your predictions for the list of games taking place that weekend. Midweek fixtures aren't included, it's simply Saturday/Sunday/Monday games each week.

Correct results (win, lose or draw) and correct scorelines count towards the overall standings. Last seasons winner was Rotty who really pushed the boat out every week with his predictions :o

For every correct result, you recieve 1 point. For every correct scoreline, you recieve 3 points.

Fixtures must be posted in the thread in time for kickoff before the first game of the weekend (on an normal weekend this is 12.45 on Saturday). If you miss the deadline, but still have time to spare before the 3pm fixtures kick off, you can still post predictions for those games and any after, but obviously any prediction posted for a game that has already kicked off will not count.

Post only predictions to keep each thread tidy, any comments regarding games can be posted in the relevant spoilers thread for that week.

Every week results will be posted in the thread by Drawoh (we hope :p, if not I'll have a bash until he surfaces) listing everyones gameweek score, and overall score for every gameweek participated in upto that point.

I don't think I've missed anything (if I have statto Baz will soon say so ;) ) so here are my predictions:

Sunderland 2 - 1 Tottenham
Bolton 1 - 0 Newcastle
Derby 0 - 1 Portsmouth
Everton 1 - 0 Wigan
Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Blackburn
West Ham 1 - 0 Man City
Aston Villa 0 - 1 Liverpool
Arsenal 1 - 0 Fulham
Chelsea 1 - 0 Birmingham
Manchester United 2 - 0 Reading

(copy and paste these into your post and edit them accordingly)

Very happy to be involved in this again for the coming season. I was waiting to see if there was any interest, and there certainly seems to be, from the midnight owls at least. :)

You've summarised the rules very well, Ripper. Only thing I'd add is that the cut-off time for any prediction is 5 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time for any game. This allows for small errors in forum time and referee's time, and for editing a post in the short time before it's marked as having been edited.

Also, anyone should avoid making any edits to predictions after the cut-off time for the first game in any weekend, otherwise the whole of the edited post will be assumed to have been made at the time of the edit. If you want to change a prediction for a later game after the cut-off time for the first game, then simply make another post.

There is a case for extending the competition to include the Christmas, New Year and Easter fixtures. Some people were disappointed last year when these were not included. The general feeling was that insufficient notice was given for including these. If it's agreed well in advance, we could certainly include them this season (though there don't appear to be any scheduled Easter fixtures this season). How do people feel?

Similarly, there'd be no problem in including mid-week fixtures too. Again, how do people feel about that?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last season, some people missed out occasionally because the week's thread was not started until late in the week. There is no problem in anybody starting the thread - it's not necessary to wait until someone else starts it. Make sure you put "Silverpaw" and the dates of the matches in the thread title.

Also, if you're going to be away, you can submit predictions in advance, either by starting a weekly thread early, or by posting predictions for forthcoming weeks in a currently active thread, and making it clear which week they are for. (I'm about to do this, myself, as I'm going away for a couple of weeks.)
