Been a lot of questions surrounding Warhawk. We seemed to go through about 119 of them just wondering whether it'd be a disc or downloable game, and that was just the start of them. Perhaps sensing our undying thirst for knowledge, game director Dylan Jobe has posted a FAQ on the PlayStation Blog, complete with interesting/useful responses. The most interesting/useful follow.

- To the best of their knowledge, the bundled headset is not a limited offer.

- The game will support 2, 3 & 4-player splitscreen play.

- Expect downloadable content in the future, since the game's been "designed from the ground up with expandability in mind"

- Even if you're hosting a MP game on your PS3 as a server, you can still play.

- ALL maps support 32 players, not just some.

- The game recognises your XMB buddy list and imports it straight into the game's buddy page.

- It's got full clan support

- Release dates for everywhere BUT the US are up in the air. In other words, if you're in Europe, Australia or Japan, don't hold your breath, this one might slip to Christmas or even 2008.

- MP servers are global, but players have the option of filtering just their local ones.

- The game will support most headsets, even the old SOCOM USB one, so don't FREAK OUT if you're opting for the downloadable version.

Could be Christmas or 2008 for Europe

Guess I'm definately downloading the US version then ;)

Thing is this will only work if we know others who are doing this, otherwise wew will just end up playing against loads of Americans. We need to convince more people here to sign up USA accounts and download it from US store for 40 bucks on August 28th!

You can play on worldwide servers. it isn't region locked iirc.

Will there be an option to join local servers just in your country?
Yes. While we wanted to make sure that players got to choose the exact server they jumped into, we *totally* realized that if the game takes off, which we hope it does, that players might be simply overloaded by the server list. So, more to your point “Shadow_Dancer,” you can filter by region, language, game type, ping, max rank, etc.

Why would they do that?

Yeah, but if it is only released in the USA then you will have low pings to all of those people, obviously they will all play on the USA hosted servers as they have quickest ping to them and also if they host their own servers we will get slow pings.

Most sites have recently changed the release date to 14th September (one of the sites originally said November not long ago) so hopefully that will be the UK date.

Superb, a nice way around it. Whilst it's not as good as being able to access a centralized friends list, it's certainly better than having none. Hopefully you can message just like normal.

Shocking. From good to bad. If the game works, it works. Get it released everywhere, if it's downloadable I don't see the problem?

ah, I see what you mean. I have about 5 mates who will most probably download the US version. So as long as we can get some of the crew on OcUK to get together for it then I'm sure we will be able to host 'local' games ;)

Add me to that list, I will probably share the download with 2 or 3 others as well who want it.

Have you ever tried more than 5 users, out of curiousity? I am now thinking of sharing with only 3 others plus myself. If it locked to allow 5 downloads of the item from 1 PSN ID, then if I have to replace the PS3 or format it, I would need one of the downloads for myself.

Yes, certainly been the case with previous games, in the beginning it was a problem witha few titles that used regionalised servers (RFOM and Motorstorm off the top of my head). As far as I know all new titles use worldwide servers for all games (Blu-ray and downloaded).

I have let five other people have access to my account to download stuff, plus I have swapped from a Jap console to PAL one and downloaded again on new one. So that's 7 times I have downloaded a single game on one account.

Right I need some help from the people that know, i.e you lot :D

How can I get this game apart from importing it on the 28th August, i.e. how do I buy anything from the US store?

BTW: a bit more info just to clarify in game you can choose who you want to talk/listen to in game rather than hearing everyone chatting :)

setup a US account by just putting in a hotel address or something similar. Some UK cards are accepted but most require address check. Best bet is to setup an account with entropay www.entropay.com - it gives you a virtual credit card but doesnt need address verifying for online purchases etc.

You can setup a USA account easily enough (following the info in the PS3 sticky thread).

To use a card the easiest way is to use one of these virtual online Visa/Mastercards. Basically it is like paypal, they give you a valid VISA/Mastercard number, expiry date, security code etc.

You just top this up by linking it to your bank or debit card, then you can add that to your USA account. It does not check the cardholders registered address, so you just enter card number etc. The one I use charges you something like 1.5% every time you add funds or withdraw funds from your card.

I use http://www.entropay.com whcih was easy to setup and took about 2 days to validate and link to my bank account. I have used it for at least 5 purchases from the USA store and it has worked fine for me.
