Pleased to say everything runs great on my rig other than one problem.
Flashing/Strobe effects in game courses blocky/line break ups in the graphics with V-Sync disable. Enable this setting and everything is fine though it does hammer my frame rate quite a lot.
Any surgestions? By what percent running V-Sync will my frame rates drop?
What are you guys running? On or off?

Anything up to 50% if you have triple buffering disabled (33% with it enabled).
Personally unless you are really struggling with tearing or visual artifacts I would always recommend playing with vsync disabled in FPS games. in addition to the exaggerated FPS drops, it can also create mouse lag.

i ran it off sitting between 40 and 60 fps the hole time apart from the end were it hit 30 once for such short a time its not a worry.
i got the problem once that you are refering to in the ball like sub at the start when the lights flashed apart from that never noticed it any were else.
what drivers are u using i had the beta 163 drivers from nvidia

Yes 163 just downloaded last night (bioshock ones)
With V-Sync on I get between 30/60FPS mainly running at 60FPS the whole time but at the beginning it gets stuck @30 till you come out of the bubble. I can still feel the slow down though with V-Sync enabled.
I have just brought a new monitor is that partly to blame? its a Samsung SyncMaster 205BW. Dont the word "Syncmaster" mean anything lol

22" CRT, no tearing with V-Sync for OpenGL, and Direct3D turned OFF in Rivatuner and in Games menu, I have never seen tearing in 7 years of PC gaming.

hope so, cause ill get a different 1, i experenced this with quake 4 too, had to use a refresh rate tool to fix it

I think my refresh is limited to 75HZ, 100HZ on desktop as Vista 64 (32bit does)wont allow me to install my Monitor Driver which allows me to run desktop at 120HZ and games 100HZ, I can override as in XP but limit is 100HZ not like 160 as XP will let you set to. :(

I messed about in settings, without a real driver for my Monitor I can only set desktop at 100HZ and Game Res of 1920x1440 to 75HZ. :(
