stop firefox downloading previews to the desktop

hi guys, i was wondering if it is possible to make firefox behave like it does on windows so that when you choose to open a pdf with preview it doesn't save it to the desktop? or so that if it does save it, then it deletes it on closure of preview?

at the moment what happens is, i choose "open file with preview" and it does so but also saves a copy on the desktop.

I change the download location to a downloads folder to stop this happening

Then it's an easy task just to select all and trash it to clear up.

oh, i generally like having my downloads onto the desktop

maybe if you use acrobat you can open them embedded in firefox...

im not so desperate i have to use acrobat!! however i might try foxit.

You could create an Applescript that automatically removes it from the desktop.

Although it's likely it would delete all images

ok guys, just for your info i managed to fix it. i installed the "pdf downloader" extension and if i choose "open pdf" from there, then it doesn't download it to the desktop.
