Lucasarts and Bioware Corp. To Develop Ground-Breaking Interactive Entertainment Product

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and EDMONTON, CANADA — October 30, 2007 — LucasArts and BioWare Corp. today announced that they have entered into an agreement to create an interactive entertainment product. The product, details of which will be unveiled at a later date, will be developed and published by BioWare and LucasArts, and will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience.

“LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.”

Sorry I just get really really really overexcited when it comes to anything to do with SWG :o
 
Knights of the Old Republic is the best RPG out since FFVII, so I believe Bioware and Lucasarts will go on to do great things in their partnership.
 
Please let Bioware be taking over SWG, and re-release it they're way. That would make subscribe again in a shot. Not that i'd say no to a KOTOR mmo, but think they could really revitalize SWG. This announcement is great news either way. :D
 
I would love it if it is KOTOR 3, would be awesome. I also wouldn't mind if it's a KOTOR MMORPG, as It's an MMO that I would actually want to play because it's set in quite possibly the most interesting universe and timeline to make it wide open to do anything in. And I'll have graduated by then, so will have lots of time to play it! :D

nah, let the product rot, but take all the pretty starwarsy licences away from SOE and place them in the lap of bioware, and silly executives from LA...please stay away
 
well, bioware have already shown what they can do with a star wars licence, lets see if they can pull it off again with EA on top of them
 
What I would love to know is if another STG like Jedi Academy is in the pipeline? I just started playing it again and its just SO much fun throwing storm troopers stupidly high in the air with force grip and hearing their screams and then the crunch as they hit the ground, or pushing them off high ledges! :D
 
If it's SWG2 - I will <3 them forever...
