That stuff doesn't work, just looks cool at the bottom of your case. You'd need really thick stuff to silence your PC, put a 1" bit of foam on the side of your case and fill up the spare 5.25" and 3.5" bays with foam and that'll help :)
 
Heat it up with a hair dryer and pull it off, then get the remainder off with a citrus based product like goo gone!

It might be better to look at car audio damping material like dynamat or brown bread.

It wont silence fan-noise as such, but it will eliminate any case resonance.

you can pick up a "door pack" from your local halfords or car-mod-shop, which you can then cut to size.
