Posted my problem last night but so far, no solution. Just built my new rig, abit ip35 pro, e2180, 8800gt, 2gig ballistix 6400, all good, posts fine, fresh install of xp on a new hard drive. Problem is, whenever i change anything in the bios, even setting the ram to its correct voltage, when i save and reboot i get 'boot disk error, insert system disk' message. Anyone got any ideas? If its something stupid im missing just put me out of my misery, lol... thanks guys.

Sounds like a setting like Return to Default on Boot up is set somewhere.

Sorry mate i have absolutely No experience with your Hardware, But I've given you some Bumpage though so maybe someone else can help :)

I'll give you a bump too. There is an edit button on the bottom right of your post you know :) I also dont know what your problem is :(

I'm presuming you only have on hard drive in the system? Double check the boot order, and make sure nothing else is inserted into your cd-rom and floppy drive if you have one...And that you don;t have a usb stick stuck in the back somewhere...hah, although that isn't likely.

So the system boots up fine with default setting's? Only when you change the RAM setting's it has a fit?

ballistix ram should be at 2.2 its at 1.8, timings are wrong and tbh i would like to unlock some of the e2180's o/cing potential, not have it dawdling at 2ghz, lol

Could try updating the bios perhaps? Entirely upto you on that front though, as long as your confident in doing so.

Chipset drivers ? Everybody forgets them have you ?

never had to install anything on my friend pc with a quad GT. I tried... it wouldn't work it kept asking what raid to choose and i pushed 0 for no raid and then it would just come up with an error. His pc works fine with out what was ever on tht disk though lol.
