Hi All,

Got a SK22G2 AMD Shuttle atm with the following specs:

AMD Sempron 3400+
Single 512MB No-name brand Memory
160GB Sata1 Maxtor HD
18x LiteOn DVD Writer
Floppy Drive
Asus 802.11g Wireless PCI Network Card
Using onboard video & sound.

Thing is, I'd like to turn this into a portable gaming machine as its an ok weight for carrying around to a mates house to meet up with some friends for a bit LanParty fun.

So, bearing in mind the limited space, power and cooling what would you guys recommend ?

Budget: Lets say upto £250 max. I might be persuaded for more but need to save some cash for a new proper C2Q Gaming Tower for home ;)

Ok, well, I threw caution to the wind yesterday and went ahead with an upgrade of the following:

AMD X2 4400+ (2.3Ghz) AM2 65Watt CPU
2x1GB DDR2-800 Memory
PNY 8600GTS 256MB Video Card

The video card was a gamble. Box states needed a 400watt psu with 24(!) Amps on the 12v rail. This Shuttle PSU outputs just 10 amps on the 12v.

However, its come together very nicely indeed! Didnt even need a re-install of XP to recognise the dual core, drivers updated and its humming along nicely compared to the old sempron.

Stressed the Video card as well with a good 2hr session on Call of Duty 4 and an hour on Supreme Commander. Very impressed, solid, no reboots or crashes and its handling heavy duty games with relative ease on my 19" WS Acer Monitor.

Arthalen == Happy Bunny :D
