Catalyst 8.1s have been leaked! Haven't had time to try them myself as I'm at work, apparantly they have support for crossfire x! Anyway, Linky!

well i can let you know what 2 3870s will be like, problem is i dont keep the previous results so i cant comment on the performance improvements :p
 
Hmm, kinda want to try Mr hot rod out now and see what they are like. He feels lonely in his box ready to be sold sometime :).

What card would I see a higher 3dmark (06) with?. The 2900Pro or the 8800GTX?. I can get the 2900Pro to 847Mhz core and 1000Mhz memory. The GTX I get 630Mhz core, 1630-1650Mhz Shader clock and 1050Mhz on the memory.

Can't wait until the 3850 AGP comes out and is benched on some old cpu's.

I can then decide whether it's going to be worth doing a temporary upgrade.


Just out of interest, what's the fastest AGP from the green team?

Probably not then as I can hit about the same with my GTX and my E2180 @ 3.2Ghz. Are you sure you got the right score as I think I seen Quads and the 2900's hit about 14k?. I want to give it a try now as I think I could hit the same score with the 2900 and this CPU.
 
8.1's installed and working well... vista 64

Crysis shows some improvements. 32bit performance is much higher in crossfire. 64 Bit is a little higher and DX10 performance is better, but still way behind DX9 for frame rate.
 
i get about 13,500 in 3dmark 06 with my 2900 at 840 core 900 ram and my q6600 at 3.83Ghz, I've yet to try these yet, gonna sort some stuff out then give them a go
