The Sigma DP1: DSLR in a compact body.

I think most would argue that it comes down to how much it costs, as to if it's worth it - but I do think people would pay a premium for it if they need a high performance camera in a small package.

Things I've noticed off the bat:

>16.6mm(28mm eqv) lens... no mention of zoom range, could it be a fixed lens?
>No optical viewfinder... not very SLR there at all.
>Crap movie recording; would have been nice for those wanting this in a DSLR.

I've seen the Sigma SD-14 body available for as little as £300 before xmas, so I would be disappointed if this was priced higher. If it comes in at £299 rrp, with retailer discounts, this could be quite a nice buy.

This does look interesting and very much like the Rioch GR Digital II I posted about yesterday same styling as and hopefully SLR image quality!

love the Idea of a fixed 28mm I may have to put off getting the Rioch now Hmmm decisions decisions!

I doubt it's a fixed lens, as it max aperture is F4, I would have expected lower on a prime. I think they're just holding back on the information as it may only have quite a limited range. Would be nice to see if it has the reach of standard kit lens thingy (28-75mm ish). I doubt that though.

I've just noticed - there's an optical viewfinder accessory apparently - wonder how that works...

Have a look at the Ricoh Gr digital on dpreview think it would be the same as that for view finder attachment.

I also think it will be a fixed 28mm like the Ricoh Gr Digital/Gr Digital II
