Hi guys,
I'm using a Turtle Beach Montego card which I bought on MM for my sound, so I've always had the on-board audio switched off ("Azalia codec" set to disabled in the BIOS setup if I'm not mistaken). However, when I go into device manager, I see a yellow exclamation mark with "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" next to it! Not only that, but Windows seems to have automatically installed a driver called cmudax3.sys for it, which is causing my system to BSOD when I run a particular game. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted, went into BIOS and CONFIRMED that "Azalia codec" was indeed set to "disabled" (IT WAS!!!), but when I booted back into Windows I got the Found New Hardware wizard prompting me to find drivers for ""Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" again!
I don't know why this is happening and it's driving me mad! Why the hell is this showing up when it's DISABLED THROUGH THE BIOS FFS??? Someone please help me nuke it the hell off my system!
