Im thinking of purchasing a G25 Racing wheel from Logitech however Im unsure because of the high price.

Was just wondering if anyone of you has the G25 racing wheel and what you make of it..

Is it really worth what they're asking for it?

I can't comment myself but there are a few people on here that own one and say they're great. If I could afford it I'd probably buy one, I used to have a MOMO and really miss a wheel for racing games.

I've asked this question myself, and was basically told, if money is an issue, just get the Driving Force PRO wheel. It lacks a clutch pedal and only has a sequential gearstick instead of a 6-speed but apparently the wheel itself is very good. I've seen them as cheap as £70, but i hear you can get em for £60 (haven't ever seen one that cheap).

I haven't got either yet, but i've sided with the force pro wheel, i just can't justify £140 for a wheel, for an extra £20 i could buy a 360.

Yeah, that's a good point.. The thing is, I'm one of these people that doesnt mind paying extra for something that a) Is going to last and b) Is good quality however I just need to know from people whether it's really worth spending £140 on.

Mr Latte has a G25 ( prob show up soon) he did a fantastic review for it on Avforums http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10743285&postcount=551
Contains link to his review (think its page2). Im going to get a wheel soon probably G25 or the newly announced Logitech GT5 wheel (if i can wait), the G25 is the daddy but i like some of features on gt5 wheel and is a bit cheaper.

I'd personally say, it's only worth it if you race in online leagues etc and are really serious about sim racing. If you're not you may as well save yourself £100 and get a logitech momo as that will be more than capable enough for most games.

I can't get the H type gears to work properly, it shifts but only when I got on the left (1/2) then if I keep on going from middle to 2 it shifts to 3 and so on. But if I move from 2nd to 3rd (properly) nothing happens. The Logitech CP picks it up correctly though.

I have one...

Never had a wheel before so cant comment compared to other wheels... but is solidly made and the feedback is amazing.

I wouldn't get a Momo since the pedals can go wrong and wheel rotation is limited, but the Driving Force Pro is a quality wheel and the best option under the price of the G25. As said above, only get the G25 if either you race online competitively, or you're loaded.

Btw all these wheels also work on PC :)

I've got one and it's definitely a great wheel...for me anything less than is true to the simulation defeats the object of playing a simulation, so it's all or nothing. That also means you need a triplehead2go though ;)

In the past I've owned the black and red MOMOs and they're also good wheels, it's just the clutch and H-shifter really elevates the experience to a higher level of tangibility.

I didn't know about the GT5...but looking it up it lacks the clutch and shifter, looks like a step backwards :(

It's half the price of the G25, so i don't see that as a surprise. Its basically a revision of the driving force pro which was designed for GT4.

I got a g25 wheel from overclockers just after xmas for £116 plus vat.
I also have a giullemot force feedback wheel which is very good but the g25 blows it away.
The g25 is amazing with the imported gt prologue and games like gtr2,gtr legends and r-factor on the pc.
I wish MS had allowed wheels like this to work with the 360.
If you are into racing games and can afford it the g25 is a must buy.

I would just like to correct that point slightly if I may?

If you are into simulation racing games, and can afford the G25, it is an absolute must buy. If you are solely into arcade-style racing games, a G25 would just simply be overkill. Have a look for a second-hand Driving Force Pro (still an exceptionally capable wheel) if you are, as there is simply no need for the extra expense of the G25.
