You might have heard about the Capcom 25th Anniversary DVD that comes packaged with the latest issue of the Famitsu magazine. This DVD also contain a new video for Resident Evil 5 that shows gameplay footage, models of the characters and weapons, along with an interview with the producer Jun Takeuchi.

it looks amazing, I loved Res4, in fact it was probably the game that convinced me console gaming was the way forward.

Same, but i prefer 1-3 over 4/5. I want zombies, not crazy people

I like both but they're very much 2 different series. One's survival horror, the other's arcade action.

I loved them all but prefer the survival horror of the 1st 3. I still play them regulary on my PS3

A mix between the new and old elements for the new resi evil would be a timeless classic!

And it would make resi scary again...

It was what resi 4 was going to be, looks awesome if you take away the ghosts and **dancing posessed baby things** :confused:

It was becoming too much like silent hill iirc which is why they changed its direction. They should make a new IP based on the features in that video.

Yeah, They got huge complaints, because Res Evil is about science gone mad, Not the paranormal, In all honesty, They would have lost me as a fan too if they had gone that route.

Res Evil is one of my fave series, Thats 0-4 and probably 5 too

There has been gameplay footage of RE5 out for months now. It came out almost as soon as the game was announced. :confused:

Thing is though - wouldnt you have thought that combo of fixed camera angles (old style) mixed with the new over the shoulder aiming (new style) would be the perfect mix?

Just like in the video.

Ya know, thinking about it, resi evil 4 was such a weird direction for the series to go. I love the game, but it wasnt scary, made me jump a few times - resi needs to be scary. And have zombies.

I always remember in the 1st one when the dogs jumped through the window in the hall. Jesus!

Was only about 8 too!

Looks like RE4 in a different setting :/

I loved all the pieces of paper, clues, the stupid puzzles, the lack of ammo and the zombies. I guess i am a minority though. No matter how much i loved RE4 on the cube i always thought this would be so much cooler with zombies.

I hated the limited saves in the old resident evils but apart from that I loved the old style. I don't think resi 4 should have had the RE name but if it didn't then it wouldn't have gotten the attention it deserved.

I wasn't bothered about the limited saves as i tried to keep the amount of times i saved it to a minimum so i could get an A rank and unlock the rocket launcher

I only play single player games for 15-20 minutes at a time though so it was a pain.
