Was in dundee just about 3 hours ago, Parked into a small road that had traffic lights and what looked like cameras on top of them, As i was trying to figure out where an indian restaurant was on my sat nav, Went forward, Stopped at the traffic lights, Waited 20 minutes for them to go green, they didn't so went through them, Mind you the road was empty. Am i most likely going to get penalized for it?

Probably not red light cameras if they were on top of the traffic lights. They're normally on separate posts and painted yellow.

I wouldn't worry too much, I doubt anyone was watching!

Na, No one was watching, Not only that, It was a really dumb place for traffic lights, Now a giveway, woulda made more sense to be honest,

The type of camera that was on the red light signal post was tinted black? Would that help give you an idea of what it might be, I know the one in paisley road west is a speed camera where i live because as you said, It's on a seperate post and is marked before you go past it in yellow/red indigo stickers.

I believe the things on top of the lights are to tell when cars are coming up to them at night. Red light cameras aren't on top of the lights.

What like a light senser (light hits the sensor and it changes its light?)?

Sorry to be a specific asking pest on your thorn side. =)

I believe so, definitely not cameras in any case. If you come up to some red lights at night if you flash your main beams they will change if there's nothing coming the other way :)

Thank you, I think i'll have some fun with the new set of lights they put in place with those very same cameras, Some numpy crashed into the old ones, Thanks to him. =)

20 mins you are a patiant man ... I go if after 1 min..... in fact sometimes I dont wait at all.....clear the section and go...... riding a bike has its problems when theres no cars to trigger the lights for you. you could be there, well until some one comes your direction... not a problem during the day but sunday morns are a bugger, so now I just dont wait at all.. makes the ride to work 5 mins quicker...its only 15 to start with....

bullit

20 mins? That sounds an awful lot like a lie ;) The things on top of lights are PIR sensors, as such sometimes flashing your lights at them will trigger them to change.

Yea 20 minutes, Can't remember what street, But it was in the city center of dundee, Just had arrived, And was verrrrrry hungry, So decided to go to an indian restaurant, Parked at this little side road, Just after the main set of traffic lights, Thought it would be a giveway.

Looked up, There were traffic lights, Then waited 20 mins, I know i waited 20 mins for them because it took me that long to find it on my sat nav, Thats why.

Anyways, Glad it's not cameras. Thanks for the tips, Least i'll know what to do when i come to dundee again, God damn there are soo many of them :/
