Hi

I have just got a PS3 and am trying to set up streaming to it from my PC. I have tried WMP 11, TVersity and Simplecenter and cannot find any of them from my PS3. I have also tried running them all without a firwall to narrow the problem down but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Go to your PS3 Network Settings. Go to the Status and check what NAT Type it is. If it is NAT Type 1 or 3 then something is wrong with how the PS3 is connecting to the internets.

Thanks for the response. The NAT type = 2?

Could it be a setting on my wireless box? It came free with my 02 broadband.

I must say I have absolutely no networking/wireless networking experience and was hoping it would just work straight off the bat.

I have read most guides on the internet and can't find the problem.

That is fwhat I thought but all servers are added as exceptions and I have turned of MS Firewall and Zone ALram just to check and still no joy.

HAVE YOU FORWARDED PORTS TO YOUR PS3? sorry bout caps.

I have to do that, this is what I have on my router settings:

The Ps* numbers all relate to my ps3, enabling it to see networks properly and play online, I also gave all my devices (PC's and consoles static ip's)

# Service Type Ports
1 utorrent 58654 - 58655
2 PS1 443
3 PS2 5223
4 PS3 3478 - 3479
5 PS4 3658

ZOMG! Oxy has a PS4! :p

Sorry - couldn't resist :(

I actually need to set my PS3 up for media streaming at some point :/

hehe....

I found wmp11 to be far superior to tversity.

Some kind chap on these forums helped me with it a couple of months ago. I'll search my post now!! gimmie 2 mins!!

have you actually allowed the ps3 in wmp11? go to tools - options then click the tab Library in there click configure sharing and allow the ps3

btw tversity is twice as good

LOL - use guide above follows exactly what i have just said!!

By the way... just wondering how you managed to spell "Setting" as "Sutting" in the title? U is quite far from E...

I have the same problem, Ive tried everything and my PC just wont detect my PS3 . There both connected to my Linksys wired router, nat type 2, ports forwarded, firewalls turned off. In the connect to media devices it just wont show up.

I just use my Phillips 20gb mp3 player to transfer files across instead but i don't like not being able to sort it out.
