that is the question.

Product = 1L of semi skimmed.

Bought a couple of hours ago and its tasting dodgy, like it's off. Date is the 14th of may and its only just been opened!

It's just about drinkable... i'm confused as to why it's bad already :(

How do you know where its been, might have been stored in the blazing sun for 2 days before you bought it. If it smells off, tastes off it probably is off.

Yeah, I've had enough of it. In the bin! :(

Teaches me for trying to help out the corner shop instead of walking over the road to Tesco Express.

As much as I'm for supporting the local businesses you have to always look at sell by dates. Something that the supermarkets will religiously moniter so they shouldn't be too bad..

I work in Tesco, and there's staff members who's job is purely to check every perishable product on all the shelves, everyday and reduce them say, 10% for 2 days ahead of the display until date (not sure of the exact figures, but something like that). Then anything that's left will go down more the day before, then on the day it'll be moved to the Reduced cabinet (stuff that has to sell that day), and be reduced more and more throughout the day, upto about 85% off after 6pm or so.

Corner shops don't do anything like that. They can never compete with the likes of a tesco express if they're not maximising their profit, and minimising their loss/waste.

Lol you would think that, I work in a supermarket, albeit a fairly small local one (with the laziest staff ever) have seen milk sit out 1hr+ before being put in the chiller.
