I wanted to rebuild my mATX system to be a bit tidyer and cooler. I also wanted a smaler system which had no compromises in specification as i didnt fancy a massive PC just to play a few games. I had a lot of problems trying to get he damn thing tidy but got there in the end. Apologies for the poor photography, my camera has some form of disease which is uncurable :(

Everything stripped out and ready to go, except for a stuborn Zalman fan mate 2

STA41315.jpg

Akasa Fan controller, sniped it on ebay for around a tenner :)

STA41316.jpg

Samsung 500gb hard disk with a scythe hard disk stabilzer II.

STA41317.jpg

Hard disk snuggly fitted into a 5" bay.

STA41318.jpg

1st problem overcome. The hard disk stabilizer, fan controller and dvd drive commanded a bay of their own, i got round this by wedging in both the hard disk and the fan controller into the same bay, got away with it. Just!

STA41319.jpg

I removed the 3" bays as they were no longer needed.

STA41320.jpg

Power cables tucked away to the side of the 5" bays

part 2;

STA41321.jpg

Motherboard ready for installation with Coolermaster vortex HSF installed with MX-2 compound. I Chose this cooler for its secure fitting and i wanted a top down cooler as i thought it would be better for a smaller case.

STA41330-1.jpg

Motherboard in, all went okay except for the ATX power connector, it was too long and very inflexible making it the messiest part of the build.

STA41329.jpg

Cables stashed away out of sight. All the extra bulk this side of the case made the panel very hard to fit, it required 2 hands, one foot and a forehead to get it shut.

Living room to clear up.

i do but i had limited space and there was absolutely no way of jamming more cables away. i'm happy with it as it is at the moment and its a tiny bit tidyer than the last picture and most cables are out of site except for that hidious 24pin atx connector

too fat, the side of that case was hard enough as it was to put on, there's not chance of wedging more cable behind there :(

Very nice build indeed. :)

I've used that Coolermaster Case before. Found it very well built considering the cost.

i got the case for £50 delivered with a 460W Coolermaster extreme power PSU which i used to revive another system and that was very good as well. i'd put a link to the deal but i may be shot :(
