I'm thinking of ordering this memory and wanted to hear from anyone else who is using it.

I am about to switch to Vista x64 and thought it would be nice to get a 4GB Dual-Channel kit.

I'm hoping this kit is compatible with a ASUS P5K-E WIFI/AP.

All feedback appreciated! :)

Im using 8 gig of it and it works a treat, no complaints. contains low power spd settings so no issue booting system at default vdimm 1.8. mnaualy set 2.1v and tight timmings and your away.

The above Ram is amazing, it will do 1000mhz with 5:5:5:15 @ 2.1-2.2v

Weird thing is it does 1000mhz with 4:4:4:4:12 @ 2.1v on AMD AM2 rigs but Intel is different (prob due to Memory controller not being in the CPU).

I have had 4 sticks of it up to 1000mhz on the striker II Formula, Striker Extreme stops at about 900-950mhz.

I had more luck and better clocking with it than with any Dominator kit I tried, this is prob due to the fact both the Mobos I mentioned/owned above suck and the type of IHC on the Dominator make it harder to clock on these Mobos as of strain on the NB.

Same ram I have (the 4-4-4-12 flavour) and no problem here on P35 board. Great stuff and great value.

Just put 8GB of this in my P5Q Deluxe, excellent RAM and it's currently running undervolted as well
I just helped a friend build a video editing / graphics machine with the same MOBO and 8gb of DHX C4. How are you liking yours? His is fast at stock with a Q9450. We'll OC it soon

lol
Certainly saved mine after hours of trying to get the crappy OCZ to work. Corsair all the way for me from this point on. I'll never buy anything else now. Brief forays into OCZ, and Crucial Ballistix with questionable reliability are at an end. Corsair rules !!

Is More Memory Better?

In multiple scenarios - task switching out of games, load times of save games, and even in-game itself - 4GB or more of memory makes the experience faster and smoother. We've got upcoming triple-A titles like FarCry 2, Stalker: Clear Sky or Crysis: Warhead, which will be at least no less intensive than what is currently available, so it's absolutely worth doubling up over 2GB if you're a keen member of the PC gaming master race.

Wow! . . . I wasn't expecting them to be so BIG!!! . . . Never seen anything like it before, what on earth?

Ah there is my trusty 2GB (2x1Gb) Crucial Special 10th Anniversary kit, purchased in December 2006 for £170!!!! Best Memory I have ever used, can do all sorts of speeds and timings and at low volts too, really not in a rush to give these up! Spent most of their life running at 400MHz 4-4-4-12 @ 1.8vDimm but could easily run at 500MHz and higher with a little extra voltage.

Hopefully you can get a gauge of the size of Corsair kit when placed next to the old Crucial. I am not sure what this behemoth of a heatsink is all about but I am thinking OVERCLOCKING!!!!!!!!!

And the upgrade is complete, 4GB of Corsair DDR2 under the hood . . wOOf wOOf! :D

you tried clocking these at all Wayne ?

I've got the same Ram, well..not quite 2 x 1gb sticks @ 900 Mhz with 2.10v going through them 4-4-4-12 2T , when I run Orthos stress with Gromacs core Priority 9 it runs fine with no errors (thats with 49 mins.. I know I should go for longer) but when I run the Large In Place FTTs I get an error within a few seconds which suggests the ram being unstable to me ?

I'm thinking of putting more voltage through them.. but seem to remember reading that 2.10 volts is where you should stop.

Any advice appreciated.. cheers :)

P.S Cpu is an E8400 @ 4050 Mhz, ta.

Why should you stop as 2.1v, IMO 2.2v is safe.

Do you know if your Mobo is drooping the Voltage to the Ram ?.

You may need settle for slacker Timings on Intel as your at 900mhz (As I said above over an AM2).

Try 4:4:4:15 2T @ 2.1v and see if it passes.

Hi thanks for the reply,

I've set ram to 2.125 in the bios and it droops to 2.10 :)

I've slackened the timing to 5-5-5-15 but it still doesn't get past 10 seconds :(

Yet I can leave it stressing the cpu for just under an hour and it doesn't report any errors :o
