Perseids Meteor shower - 2008

It's the peak around now (today/tomorrow) for the meteor shower. You need to wait 'till the moon has set for the best view, then look north-east (quite high up). Anyone else waiting up?

Looks like most of the UK is gonna be covered in clouds :( I can't see anything

Wait till around 2am I believe. The moon will fade and the sky will be really lack. You should see a fair few then. Skies are awful up here though tonight, really cloudy, so I won't see any thing.

Was out last night this bright quick flash of light just above where i was looking.

Coolness :D
 
You will still see them tonight too. Ive seen a few early ones 7 days ago but last night was 100% cloud cover. Damn UK Weather. Us poor Astronomers are having a hard time this year.
 
I'm starting to think Maybe I saw one come down yesterday coming home from work.
I presumed it was a strike of lightning, but it looked very close, I didn't hear anything , and it went straight down very quickly. Could it have been a meteor?

Tell me about it I have hardly had my telescope out this year!
