I dont really understand straps and whatnot.. I assume ive done something wrong, so please tell me what it is.. Runs stable @ 3.4ghz but some things seem slow (installing off cd for example)

Firstly, take PLL, FSB Term and NB voltages off Auto and set them to 0.02v above the lowest non-auto setting (1.52v, 1.12v etc) as the P5Q boards seriously over-volt when left on auto or the lowest manual setting.

Also disable the CPU and PCIE Spread Spectrums.


Other than that, everything looks fine. You can try lowering the Strap to 333mhz if it gives you a useable DRAM Frequency (tho in reality it makes little difference).

3.42ghz on 1.15v is pretty damn great, tho I've a feeling that you will need to up the vcore to get it 100% stable.

Not if 400 is giving you 1066mhz. The performance difference between different straps is very very small, and the faster memory speed of 400 would more than make up for it.

Yeah i get 1066 from thr 400 strap so ill go back to that Not sure if I want to try and push the processor more.. I assume it will go higher but not sure I need more than 3.4.. seems pretty good to me
