First attempt with car photography at night

Washed the car yesterday and wanted to take a few pics of it but by the time I was ready the sun had gone so decided to have a bash at night photography. I've stuck one of these in the motors section already but wanted to share in here for photography C+C.

No flash, just bracketed exposures run through photomatix and then some Lightroom processing:-

Some of those lamp posts need removing, they look strange spiking out of the roof and are distracting.

Like the first few, but not a fan of the post processing on the second half. Having the headlights on for the pictures looks smart.
I agree with SDK that some lampposts could do with moving, go knock 'em down!

I think you've done well with the light available but the HDR certainly hasn't rescued the shots. I like the processing mostly but for me there is too little detail in the side of the car. Some off camera flash would have really made the difference.

Some of those pictures are really nice.

I would clone out some lamp posts where they are just coming out of the roof of the car like SDK says.

can i have your car pls GSXR??? i like the processing on both types you have done there, some nice shots. i agree though that the car needs more detail in some of them, its a tad too dark

Nice shots there. I think my pick of those would be 3 - for the background and because I like the angle you've got the car at. Some of the others are just a bit too high or too low for me (though I'm aware that's the intention).

I want to do disgusting things to your car.

I liked the shots, even with the lamps in. Gives it an industrial feel.

number 5 for me, gets better if you do;

straighten the horizon
remove the line going under the car
remove the patch of tarmac to the left of said line.
remove the arial from the car..

Other than small tweaks i like it, love the car too...

Thanks for all the comments, and I agree a lot of those posts etc could do with removing.

What's nice to see is that I've posted these images in a few places and no one image seems to be the fav with people liking different ones. Want to get out and have another bash at this with all the comments in mind.

And to answer a few questions, no not got a lot of money, yes its a mustang (4.6 v8 GT), no you can't have it, and no you can't do disgusting things to it. :eek:
