Taiwan-based SilverStone Technology has now revealed a new member of the Sugo family of SFF (small form factor) PC cases, the SG05. Seen below, the chassis measures 218 (W) x 276 (D) x 175 (H) mm, has a steel body, a black paint job and a SFX 300W 80 Plus certified power supply. The SG05 has support for mini-ITX and mini-DTX motherboards, CPU coolers that are up to 82mm tall and enough room for one graphics card that is up to 230mm long.

Cooled off by a 120mm intake fan, the SilverStone's case can also hold one 3.5-inch or two 2.5-inch HDDs, and features front-placed audio outputs and USB ports. The Sugo SG05 is expected to reach stores in mid-January (2009) and cost 83 Euro (without VAT).

Slightly resembles a microwave... but TBH i don't actually mind the look really! :)

For a case that size cooling should be pretty decent!

Ah crazy if a little weird...

Looks like competition for the shuttle sized stuff....

I take it its not really big enough for a mini gaming pc though *hugs sg03*

Still looks pretty good (imagine silver though) :D

You're not wrong there. But something about it makes me really like it.

Strangely enough only last night I was thinking how good it would be if I could sell my 680i and get a mini-itx board for my Q6600 and run my 8800GTX from it, but couldn't think of a case that would be able to cool it....

This one probably could, but I'd be more than a little worried about the PSU as I guess its not ATX 2.2? and I don't think a GTX would be the best solution ever, but definately a good idea for those wanting small media/ intermediate gaming rigs....

And like the way they actually bothered to move the 2 USB ports more than 2 mm apart...

Only thing I would have thought they could have done to make it look cooler would have been to put the optical vertical on the right hand side. A nice slot loading driver there would be perfect :D

heres me about to make a post saying I'm bored of my v350... what to look out for, and this pops up. Nice :)
DOnt think itd make a hardcore machine though :(

I would imagine it would be perfect for a midrange wolfdale and something like an ATi 4670.

Would make a very compact yet capable lan gaming system.

Yeah, I have been looking to make myself something like that, you could even run it off a Pico 120w PSU if you were careful.

Still the biggest problem is finding a decent ITX/DTX board with PCI-e except for the massively over priced commell boards.

I Think this might be my ITX NAS server prayers answered. Its the perfect size and for expandability I bet you could fit a fair few drives in there if the psu was taken out and replaced with something a little smaller.

its interesting. I used to have the antec version similar to this...they are still big, thats the only issue, compared to a Silvestone MX02, which is quite stylish and small.

would it fit a 4870 1gb in? supports up to 9inc cards... but on the other sugo specs it says a 4870 is 9" -.-

doubt the psu would handle a quad and high end card though, lol.

I saw an interview at CES with the silverstone rep where he said it would take a 4850 but the 70 needed too much juice.

*Sorry for the large bump*

Anyone got any news on this?

As I previously posted I'd love to move my main system to something like this. Now with OCuk stocking the zotac mini-itx (seen it around for a little while) I was thinking maybe selling my p43, 8800GTX, Lian Li PC7+ with accessories, TRUE120, Corsair HX620 and getting an SG05, 4850 and zotac + mini ninja. (got the problem of 5x3.5" drives to sort out, but I'll figure something)

Might be moving to NY in a years time and the smaller size would certainly be much better than trying to get my current rig shipped over.
