First Star Wars: The Old Republic Footage

I think this is more to do with an MMO not playing nicely with shinny graphics than any "art style" bs they will try to fob us off with...
 
heh, would've preferred an KotOR III with co-op. This'll only end in tears.

Bioware haven't missed a beat yet. For me anyway, whatever they touch is gold.
 
Combat and graphics are the most heavliy tweaked features in an MMO, and that tweaking leads all the way through beta right up to release. It's too early to call it on those features really.

Bioware are going to stand toe-to-toe with WoW. They're really serious about that part of the market. This will be the first time another developer has /purposely/ gone after Blizzard.

This fight will be epic. If you care nothing about the games themselves (like me) you'll at least love this scrap.
 
I read a rumour that it's to me microtransaction based earlier this week, may even have been here somewhere...
 
Where have I been hiding? First I've heard about this!

It take it that this is going to be as varied as SWG was with skill trees etc, or will it be another simplified piece of poo?
 
If this is a sandbox MMO in the style of SWG pre the giant **** on from the heavens, then I am very interested.

More then likely it'll be a modern day MMO clone, in which case meeeh.
 
A star wars MMO is the only chance you'll ever get me playing a MMO. I missed Galaxies due to being heavily into CS at the time, so this I'm keeping an eye on.
 
Bah I'm more interested in Star Trek Online when that eventually turns up. This just looks like another run up to a mob, hit it with your lightsabre - rinse - repeat x 100,000

Although like posters above I'll watch with an open (well nearly open) mind.

SWG was my introduction to MMO's.
When they turned it into a WoW clone it was a sad day.

I didnt play KOTOR but Mass Effect is my favourite game of the last few years.

I think Bioware are big and clever enough to create their own game, and not be inflluenced by that 'Must Copy WoW' attitude that is becoming too common.
