I'm trying to find a monitor that can do 1920x1200 (23"+), and doesn't suffer vertical brightness gradient when viewed from the middle (I think this rules out TN panels, you seem to need your eyelevel to be above the top of the monitor). It also need to be suitable for gaming.
I also use an xbox360, so dual inputs required (1 VGA, 1 DVI) and 1:1 mapping.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, I've been looking for weeks now for something decent.

I have a 2407WFP, I cant recommend it enough, colours are sharp and bright, viewing angles are fantastic, as you'd expect for a S-PVA/S-IPS panel, has all the connections you'll need and 1:1 mapping, and virtually no noticable input lag that I've found as the later 2408WFP suffers from.

If you shop around you can find 1 for about £370-£400.

+1 for the 2407WFP. I got a pair of these from Overclockers a year or two back and they're awesome. They came with a three year next day replacement warranty from Dell, which I thought was really good. I was planning to get a 24" Apple display like the one I use at work, but these were cheaper, just as good (if not better) and came with three times the warranty period, which made my mind up.

There's now a cheaper Dell 24" at a more low-end price. Haven't seen how they compare to these ones though.

We have 4 of the 2407 at work, and I don't like them. plain colours (including white) seem dithered or mottled. Admittedly they are using VGA, but I've seen panles which don't do this (unfortunately they were TN....).
Both the Dell and the HP are also quite expensive, I was hoping to find something around £300. I would wait for prices to come down, but my current 21" CRT is going wrong :(
