Hey guys,

Recently i went out a got myself a new Ipod touch 2g. and so far everything is great but i am starting to think about getting a case.

Now the best one that i have seen so far is this the Incase Slider:

but now i have started thinking, do i actually need a case. I have scratches on the back but none on the front. Is the front (screen) scratch proof or should i be worried.

Im getting a ipod dock for xmas so i dont know if getting a case would be a good idea or just annoying.

The incase slider is an excellent case, I have one for my iPhone.

I also have a dock, it's a bit inconvenient but you can quickly pop off the snug bottom to dock it. It isn't that much of a hassle.

The screens are supposedly pretty scratch-proof, that case will not do anything to protect the screen though.

The best one I have seen is the PowerSupport Air Jacket. It only covers the back, and simply snaps onto the back while being incredibly thin (0.7mm) and feels very good in the hand. Since the front can be protected by applying the screen protector, it's normally only the back that needs the protection and this is perfect for it.

I've only seen these in the Apple Stores, though.

I quite like the look of that, I never normally bother with cases for phones but that looks pretty good :)

Does it add much bulk etc to the iPhone?

If you're talking about the Air Jacket, then no - it adds practically no bulk whatsoever. It's only 0.7mm thick so you barely feel the extra thickness. Really good product.

A case is a good idea if you take your ipod touch with you everywhere or you use it a lot of if your just concerned about it getting damaged/ over smudged.

I got a Griffin Nu Form for my ipod Touch 2nd Gen and it seems pretty good. It's a 2-piece thing that you slide the player into so it protects the back so you can put it down on a surface and not worry about scratches. However, it only protects the back of the ipod, not the front.

It came with a transparent screen cover (flimsy piece of plastic) that you cn stick over the screen, but the hole cut in it for the front button doesn't line up straight, so I've left it off, which leads to my own question:

How scratch resistant is the screen? :)

where did you see this case, looks nice. (if its a competitor [email protected])

are the hardcases any good. i thought if you dropped them they would not be very shock absorbing? whats your experience with hard cases? any recommendations?

thanks :)

I ended up buying the INCASE SLIDER above.

its sleek, light and good access to the buttons. the bottom section comes off easy but the upper section is very tight after you've had it on a while.

i paid £24 which is very steep for what it is.

:)

Hey, still wandering whether to get one or not, is it black gloss on the back or more like rubber texture.

Vaja make the best cases for iphones and itouchs hands down imo. Just google Vaja, mind you they are expensive but I can personally vouch for the quality.
