Basically, the midsection has rusted through on my Rover 420 iXLD.

It's a hatchback, and looks like the backbox could do with being redone too.
Anyone got any idea how much I'll be looking at roughly?

Thanks!

Mat

Guestimate of £200 S&F for middle section and back box from Quik Fit and the like. They'll be able to give you a price over the phone btw if you call them up.

I got quoted around £250 for the middle and backbox for my MG recently from Quik Fit. Got a custom stainless steel one instead for £280.

You should be able to get it replaced for much much cheaper than that.

I took to the 214 to a place in Oldham and got the midsection replaced for £30 (including fitting!)

I think it was Oldham Tyres and Exhausts, funnily enough.

ha, there are a few loud cars in the car park so I've probably heard it drive past but not noticed.

Bet it sounds quite nice on boost :o

I bet those speed 'hills' didn't help!

I payed £190 for fitted mid section + MOT fee a few months ago. Apparantly my car is a **** to find parts for so it cost more than it usually would.

When my whole silencer packed up & sounded like a complete rust bucket i took it to a local tyre & exhaust centre (Walkers Tyres for anyone who lives in Leicestershire) and beside having to get the silencer replaced i basically needed a whole new exhaust system replaced including a cat converter fitted too on my 205 as most of the piping had rusted through & cracks and holes had appeared on the piping too. Altogether including fitting and labour it cost me £140, at the time i couldnt believe it but after from what people have told me i got it all quite cheap considering lol
