Man has hiccups for two years

A month ago I had it for 6 hours and I was getting really worried I was going to turn into one of those people. Turns out it was completely random. Oh and it really hurt.

I think it might have been the medication I just started taking, but it doesn't happen any more.

Sucks for him :(

There is more cases than you expect for this!

Id like to meet somebody because I have the best way to get rid of hiccups!

When I have them my missus always says, "If you hick-up again il give you £10"

I cant hick-up again! Andr3w will vouch for me on this one too :)

i heard some doctor guy give this advice many moons ago and ive never had em for more than a minute after trying it.

basically take deepest breath you can hold it.

hold it until you about to pass out

then as you release it breathe really fast for say like 30 seconds.

then take one more deep breath like before and release normally this time and your hiccups are gone.

works everytime for me and everyone ive passed it on too.

1-3 times a year I get hiccups for 3-4 days non stop :(

The doctors don't seem to have a real idea why I get them either.

I can not begin to imagine what that poor bloke goes through.

Eating/Sleeping is near impossible followed by stomach pains and feeling tired for days afterwards due to being so out of breath.

Luckily most times it has happened I had already been at home on booked time off work etc.
Only ever had to take time off work once.

Sounds awful, poor guy :(

Couldn't they like, link his diagphragm to a pacemaker type device? Would be be wierd for him not being able to control his breath at all but surely better than what he's currently putting up with.

Saw him on the BBC's Breakfast show this morning. Felt really sorry for the guy, he looked like death warmed. That would wee wee me off so bloody much, I can't stand hiccups for even a minute so God knows what I'd be like after that long.
