Isn't this recruitment policy illegal?

I would think being interested in the thing you're putting across would be a distinct advantage. It's like asking for a qualification. Don't think anywhere offers B.Gods though.

Whats that got to do with it? Its not like i'm applying to be a priest..

For the person that mentioned places of worship, last time I checked Church groups didn't exclude people who aren't already Christian. In fact it would simply work against what they're trying to achieve in the first place...

I've worked with young people before, and the job involves reception duties. Not preaching the religion.
 
I'm fairly sure that religion can only be a deciding factor in a job where success relies on following said religion.

e.g. a bible study teacher in a Roman Catholic school.

I am sure they will tell you about how you need to be an involved Christian to do the job. :o

Well think of it as trying to get a job in a small town Labour Social Club when everyone knows your dad just made 500 people redundant. You *could* work there, but they don't want you to. :p
 
On a similar last week I saw a council advertising for "female only" jobs. There'd be a right fuss if it said "men only". Double standards :mad:

I've not seen such a policy at (for example) Roman Catholic colleges, so yeah I think its unprecedented here.

It is a shame if they are legally allowed to do that considering the job description and their clientele.

What role? I could understand if you were going to be applying for Rape Counselling Services, because it isn't an arbitrary discrimination. However doing that for something like a PA role is IMO, criminal.
