Hi,

I'm currently using a wireless signal to stream media from 1 PC to another. Generally the connection is ok but when streaming large files (~4gb) I get the odd stutter during playback.

Would a set of powerline adapters be much better? The only plugs available (at both ends) would be 2 socket plugs - are these suitable to use?

Thanks

I've installed Devolo dLAN 200 AVeasy adapters on two sites where wireless wasn't cutting it and the clients were happy with the performance in both cases.

Despite the warnings in the instructions I had to plug the adapters into 4 gang extension leads at both ends and they still worked okay.

Same here - one is plugged into a 4 way and the other into a 12 way (rack power strip thing) and they pull and push data without a problem.

Music being played across them is flawless and no stuttering - can't comment on films and the like though.

homeokug av units (200 mbps rating) have quality f service features for media exchagne and in most cases are far more reliable than wireless. You can get models that are all in one ie the plug is the homeplug or ones that have short leads (some can do either mode)

I lost no measurable speed using an ordinary 4 socket extension bar
