Personally I think this is outrageous. It's not as if she named the company or any individuals. What were they doing browsing her Facebook profile anyway?! It's especially ironic given what the company does...

Thoughts?

All my bosses know I hate my job :p

However, if she feels the need to broadcast her life and opinions online she should be prepared to suffer the consequences, imo!

Thats just outrageous, its not like she defamed the company or anything - most people find their jobs boring!

Pretty disappointing that this is going to happen now

"we feel it is better that, as you are not happy and do not enjoy your work we end your employment with Ivell Marketing & Logistics with immediate effect"

Crikey, there'd be a whole lotta people out of work if every employer acted like this!

"we feel it is better that, as you are not happy and do not enjoy your work we end your employment with Ivell Marketing & Logistics with immediate effect"

And left unsaid...... "We feel it is better that, as we are unhappy with your performance due to you spending all day on Facebook, chatting to your mates, etc. that, we end your employment with immediate effect". :D

A girl at my work wrote her status as "why are customer such ****".
She got sacked for that, her manager read it on her profile.

I thought it was a bit harsh because she didn't do anything wrong.

We've had a few people sacked from the company I work for due to comments on facebook :S one of the management at my store actually took it on himself to add himself to staff profiles and give them some advice off the record as he didn't want to see anyone get sacked.

Also we recently posted guidelines for videos taken at work and posted online saying they "breach health and safety" and will be subject to a disciplinary... lol.

if she was using the companys PC's while posting the article im sure somewhere she would have signed an IT useage policy and this may of breached its ruling. still i think its a bit of a stupid decision and as said above im sure there are other reasons to her termination.

Surely she could claim the "job" she was talking about was one given to her eg. My mum gives me the job of cleaning the bathroom.

Job seems a bit vague as it is so if she had any fight she would take them up on that.

I think all people should be punished for using things like myspace / facebook regardless of content... sack them, inprison, publically flog them etc
