well heres whats sittin in my basket to order

Ive read good reviews of the board and the cooler plus the guaranteed o/c to 3.6 means i dont need to worrry about gettin a bad chip :)

Anyone any real world feedback on the mobo in particular?

Ive got HDD's and a 280gtx here ready to go in.

Question for the ocuk bods, are these bundles delivered in seperate pieces or is the cpu cooler and ram already installed for delivery?
 
Should get 4GHz on air no probs.
I guess stuffs all in seperate boxes, bit risky trying to package up mobo with components then putting in hands of courier!
 
Good shout on that mate. You should be hitting around 4ghz but as we discussed i7s get pretty toasty so the cooler might not be up to the job....but then again, I'm not sure, I think you said you'd had a good look at the options available already.

Bear in mind that those PSUs are a bit prone to coil whine/capacitor squeal, and the PCI-E cables are really short. I sent mine back 'cos of that.

good call mate whats a better alternative for a modular psu you would recommend?

I wasnt happy with the earlier cooler in the bundles but the reviews of this one make me happy enough to take the gamble with it.
 
You've got a nice crop of them around the same price - Corsair 620w, Be Quiet 650w, Seasonic 700w, Gigabyte 800w. Any of those would do great :)

Yeah, I did some reading and that cooler's actually pretty decent.

As per the description m8 - the bundle is already pre-overclocked and all built up apart from the heatsink - thats all you need to fit - the rest is all done for you ;)

sharpygsxr, im getting the exact same parts as you are on Monday haha, could you possible let me know how they turned out when you have it up & running? i would just like to know before i purchase on Monday :D thank you
 
same parts as in the bundle? or the whole list case and all?

Dont worry mate ill make sure i do a build log and give some feedback on how the bundle works out in the real world :D
 
im Doing everything the same, except for the case which is going to be the antec 900-2 (version 2)

:D so would like to know how yours runs! :D
 
it depends what you want to use the system for really, if you're speccing a gaming rig then the benchmarks scattered throughout the internet actually say that something along the lines of the Q9650 is a better, or just as good an alternative for gaming as the I7 although the I7's dominate the Q range for general multi tasking.

AMD 4000+
geforce 7800
2gb value ram
haha etc :P so gr8 stuff

The only thing i dont need is a monitor as i bought a high end Hyundai 24" a few weeks ago :D

got a profile for 3.6ghz for you

and another at 3.8GHz rock solid

a chip with a low VID - means we can use less volts - really is a corker!

Locky has done a cracking job!
 
cheers rj read the thread earlier, looks like locky has done a crackin job with the rig.

Unfortunately it maye be a whil eyet before i get to see it in action as i got an email today to say the Case is on backorder due to a stock shortage.

Seems the 10+ in stock on teh site isnt upto date so ill have to wait till my case is delivered before i can test the rig out :( 2days needed off work now ha ha
