What a fantastic bike. The handling, engine noise and comfort are superb.
I don't think I will ever look at another sports bike again. Due to the riding position and easy of riding, I rekon I'm faster on the Tiger than I was on the RSV Factory I had before.

Good bits:
Engine
Power everywhere
Handling
Comfort

Not so good bits:
Headlight (Is truely awful. I mean, dangerously bad)
Location of buttons to operate fuel computer

Some pics for you:

Sweet bike. My neighbour has one in the same colour. The look and sound of the thing is enough to tempt me away from Honda in the future!

Nice  Really great choice you made there Mr Rilot and glad you are enjoying it so much.

Regarding the headlight, is there a brighter upgrade available?

Lovely bikes :)

Looks great in the white too - you got the standard cans or the TORs?

You probably are, at least on the road, although I've said I'm done with sportsbikes twice in the past and am currently riding a ZX12R!

The only downside to the Tiger/GS style bikes is the inability to cruise at high speed.....well, the bikes will do it but theres so much buffeting its not nice for the rider. Doesnt really matter if you're touring on A and B roads, but I've always found sportsbikes to be more comfortable on the long motorway stretches, especially over 90mph.

Most people fit an HID upgrade to the dip beam. I'm not convinced this will fix it though as I think it's down to optics. The beam is a very concentrated bright patch with very pronounced edges, no light bleed at all.
I think the solution may be to fit some aux driving lamps and run them off a relay from the dip beam.

Stock can at the moment. I'm going to swap it once I'm back working again. Not sure what to go for though. The Arrow can is nice but damn expensive so I'll probably go with a Remus Powercone. The TOR can doesn't do it for me. Too heavy and it's also expensive.

It's fine up to bye bye license speeds from what I've seen so far. I mean, it's not Hayabusa territory for ultra high-speed comfort but then again, I try to avoid m-ways as much as possible to stay on the twisties.

Yeah, agreed, its more in Europe when you want to blast through the crap bits of France! I had to stick to the speed limits even on the deserted toll roads because any faster and my head was being battered around like mad!

My mate has just bought a ST sprint a few weeks ago and he says the same thing about the headlights on his ST sprint being dangerous...
He says the lights are ok in a striaght line,,But went banking on the corners the light beam is useless....

Well, 1000 miles have been covered and I've made the following modifications:

Had the Triumph Offroad fuel map added. Tons more midrange.
Opened up the 2nd air intake for the airbox.
Added a Givi E55 top box. Really well made and suits the bike. 1/2 the price of the Triumph one and nearly twice the size.
Converted to HID lamps and adjusted the beam pattern. Much better now I can see.
Lowered it front and back by 20mm. I can now get both feet on the floor and feel much safer paddling around to turn in my driveway.
Built a mount for the TomTom that puts it in a more suitable position.

Coming soon:
New pipe
Crash bars
Aux lights
Scottoiler

That's typical of projector lamps, the beam pattern is formed by a mask rather than lenses so you get a very sharp cut off, but it also wastes a lot of light. My car suffers from the same problem (projectors with halogen lamps) and a HID upgrade makes a world of difference.

Yes, I know. I've fitted an HID upgrade as I posted above.

what HID kit you use ?, I used the hids4u 35w one, but wish I had gone the whole hog and got 55w

very few bikes on roads have HIDs except latest beemers, all bikes should have them I rekon

I got a 55W converstion for both bulbs from Triumph Online. Was £150 for the kit. The Tiger is wierd as it has a single H7 for dip and a single H9 for main.
