It's been long over due that i cleaned the fans out on my Antec 900, notorious for collecting every partical
of dust within a 2 mile radius :D

So lets start off with a few before pics.
Keep in mind that it's been 6 months since i cleaned the fans out.

O.K i had my work cut out this afternoon, what started to be a simple clean up turned into a couple of hours :p

And so onto the after pics.

Shiny cage :)

So now i get to thinking, what can i do to minimise all this dust collecting in the drive bays, so off to the shop
to get a pair of tights to wrap the fans in.

Ah yes, carp phones - I hear they work best under water. :)

My word that was a dusty case - were your temps taking a bashing with all the extra insulation? It looks great now, nice and shiny so hopefully the tights will keep it that way :-)

no, my gf does though, and she has now been banned to the back garden when she comes round \:D/

Now that's more like it :D

however let me turn your attention to this:

Antec 1000 Plusview

I have had that for 5yrs...but for two of those I gave it to a friend of mine to use...look at how much dust accumulated in that time...took me 2hrs to clean the poor baby. She is now being used as my FTP server. :D

I'm surprised that cpu fan didn't fail with all that dust in it.

I was surprised it worked at all after what i put it through to clean it...the only fail tho was the PSU...taking apart was a bad idea but it needed cleaning...so I had to buy a new PSU for the machine...which was ok since it only cost £8 for new PSU and was only being used for FTP purposes...

That is crazy dusty, no point in having fans with that amount of dust! Lol.

OMG... I Clean fans at least once a week, as they become dusty so quick, despite my room is always tidy :)

Remainds me of scene from "the lord of the rings" in Orcs "house" :D

I clean mine yearly....whether I need to or not!

Wow I think that case is even more mingin than my kids case.

I cleaned all 7 of my 12cm fans on Saturday after 2 months and they were pretty bad.

I even have filters on the intake fans and still they were dusty. They must work though as I hardly had any dust on the hardware.

Cats for the ultimate fail...

Although that is quite impressive (especially the results!), you know your PC is dusty when it starts shutting down randomly.
