ive just installed windows 7 RC and im having trouble playing crysis, when i launched the game, it would go to a black screen then revert to the desktop. so i changed it to vista compatility, now i can get the game menu but as soon as i change a setting or launch a game, it freezes/crashes. does anyone have a fix or a solution for this? Thanks

ahh. is the 64bit version a problem with windows 7? im just updating my graphics drivers to the latest windows 7 WHQL to see if that helps any aswell

ive tryed setting it to compatability mode with admin rights, run the bin32 crysis and still crashes just the same! im on ati 9.4 drivers atm with windows 7 RC 64bit.

I'm having similar problems - the game loads up but as soon as i try to save any settings the game freezes and returns to the desktop. I'm using the latest ATI windows 7 release dirvers (64 bit) if that's any help for bods in the know...?

yeah, sounds like exactly the same problem as im having, windows 7 RC with latest 64 drivers from ATI. anybody with this setup who has it working fine? weird thing is crysis warhead and wars work perfectly! but the origional crysis is my fav to play online with my m8es. annoying really. it was the only thing i played most of the time xD

I haven't got Warhead to compare i'm afraid - but we definitely have the same problem. I suspect it's driver related combined with the fact that Crysis appears to have crappy coding for making it compatible with all pc specs/OS's. (i had to use a work-around using XP Pro to get it working)

Having said that it wasn't coded for Windows 7 so this one isn't their fault - hopefully they'll patch soon or Ati will release revised drivers.

Unless someone else has had this problem and resolved it?

It's not just ATI drivers.. the 64bit executable fails to run on my gtx280 on win7.

The 32bit exe works fine :)

Thanks uv, looks like it'll be fixable with a future patch - but how soon that will be is anyones guess as Windows 7 will be in RC1 for a while so the peeps as Crysis may not patch until a full release is planned.

hey man, no luck in this department =[ also tryed the 9.5 drivers! do u have a problem, that in catalyst in the 3D section. its uber slow? like really. almost like its crashed slow?

Not sure - i've not tried it out and i'm not at my desktop.

I'll test it out when i can and get back to you...

Runs fine for me with a 4870 1gb and Cat 9.5's, i just double click the desktop icon to run, i don't bother going into the bin folders to run it.

Just checked the properties of the desktop icon, and its target Location is the Bin64 folder, and the target is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe", so 64bit is either running fine for me, or its just defaulting to 32bit, but either way, game runs fine as said.

Patched to 1.2 btw.

The bin64 folder has two executables:

Crysis.exe
Crysis64.exe

;)

No, mine appears to be moving at the standard speed and is smooth. I haven't edited any settings within the CCC panel other than setting profiles for gaming/clocked and idle usage if that is any help to you?

Hope they patch it soon - i've want to try the DX10 settings - not that i expect to notice any difference...

win!! i got it working, it appears the 1.2.1 patch breaks the game for me! i uninstalled the game and only installed the 1.2 patch, and bam!! the game works. changing options in the game is as smooth as crysis warhead! try this and report back =]
