Asus A7N8X-E Drivers

Hey all,

i've got this motherboard and i'm gonna re-install windows soon so need the drivers,

For the LAN, sound, Sata and the motherboard itself cos i've lost the disk any ideas on where to download them from ?

Download NVIDIA Drivers

You need to select [English US] Language or you get Page Not Found?

It's the standard drivers for a NVIDIA nForce2 chipset!

at the moment windows is on a SATA drive can i still re-install winows on the same drive and then install the sata drivers yh ?

Heh yeah I forget about that, if installing Windows XP fresh you will either need to put the drivers on a floppy using the F6 method or Slipstream them into your installation disk.

You have a floppy drive right?

I seem to remember that Windows XP Set-up routine can't find the hard-disk as its stuck on a silicon-Image Sata controller that needs its own driver :confused:

During the very first second or two you will see some writing at the bottom of the set-up screen saying "Press F6 for 3rd party drivers" or something like that?

Having said that I think you may not actually need to press F6 but rather just leave the set-up routine to scan the floppy and find the driver itself! :cool:

No floppy = Fail

Apart from that you can slipstream the driver onto a new WinXP disk but if you not done anything like that before the easiest route will probably be the floppy!

I fixed up a system with that same board last year so don't be thinking I have some epic memory of hardware installation from 2003! :cool:

in the general hardware forum someone said XP has sata drivers loaded in already is tht true ?

Try the WinXP installation and see if you can get to the bit where it recognizes your hard-drive.

If it can't see your hard-drive (due to it being on a driverless SATA controller) then it can't effect your existing WinXP installation in any form or shape!

If it does detect and display your hard-drive and your not ready to perform your installation then just quit out of set-up carefully! :cool:
